Complete Boiler Room And Mechanical Piping

Lincoln, Nebraska

Rasmussen Mechanical Services was proud to take on a major mechanical project in Lincoln, Nebraska — one that would support a large food manufacturing facility. From steam boilers to compressed air systems and everything in between, our team delivered a start-to-finish mechanical solution built to perform for decades to come. At the heart of the installation were three Cleaver-Brooks steam boilers, designed to provide steam across the massive new facility. Our team installed the boilers, economizers, a blowdown separator, as well as a deaerator and surge tank. We also installed Armstrong condensate pumps, steam traps, and pressure-reducing stations to keep everything flowing smoothly and efficiently. All piping was built to last—Schedule 40 carbon steel for steam mains, Schedule 80 for steam condensate - all with roller hangers and expansion loops/pipe anchors to allow for thermal movement.  In addition, over 12,000 lineal feet of stainless piping for process cold and hot water. To ensure consistent water chemistry across systems, we installed a new LD-RidION water softener. The system was fully integrated with the feedwater loop and sized to match the boiler demands. We also installed a Cemline process water heater skid, complete with pump, expansion tank, and supporting accessories. From roof deck penetrations to expansion loops and fab lock anchors, we handled every detail in alignment with structural and safety requirements. Supporting the Rest of the Facility Beyond the core utilities, we helped the facility maintain hygiene standards with 11 HAACP-compliant boot washing stations and 37 process hose stations, all complete with mounting brackets and accessories. We also provided full support for the piping insulation. Compressed Air Where It Matters The job also involved the installation of a compressed air system, powered by three Atlas Copco oil-free compressors, three air dryers, and three large receiver tanks. The air lines themselves were a combination of aluminum for mains and Schedule 10 stainless steel for drops, selected for performance and longevity. Commissioning When it came time to bring everything online, we worked side-by-side with the manufacturer reps to perform all start-ups. We provided 80 hours of commissioning support, including pre-functional checks, flushing, pressure testing, and temperature mapping. Shoutout to our Lincoln Boiler Installation team on the great work!
